Why does our skin start to age?

Starting as early as the age of 20, the aging process begins and the skin begins to lose its firmness, and therefore loses its youthful appearance. This is due to both internal factors (genetics, natural aging process) and external factors (sun exposure, sleeping posture, smoking, diet, etc.).

What happens as we age?

Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring carbohydrate that we all have in our skin. This HA helps to plump and hydrate the skin and keep it looking youthful. As we age, we gradually lose volume in the amount of hyaluronic acid in our skin, leading to an increased risk of wrinkles and folds to appear.

How can we get rid of deep wrinkles and folds in our skin?

Today, with dermal fillers (hyaluronic acid), we can easily and safely erase the signs of aging on your face! Dermal fillers are strategically injected into the skin to reduce the appearance of lines and wrinkles, and restore the youthful facial contours you once had!

Where can Dermal Fillers be used?

Dermal fillers can be used in different areas of the face, and are injected into different levels of the skin, depending on the area being treated. You can add lift and volume to the cheek area redefining your cheekbone area; soften the deep folds that run between your nose and lips; get rid of those pesky lipstick lines; enhance lip volume and definition; soften marionette lines that run down towards your chin; and smooth out those deep frown lines between the eyebrows.

How long do the results last?

Depending upon the type of dermal filler used, the results can last anywhere from 12-18 months. Once the dermal filler is placed, your body starts to metabolize it. Every time you make facial expressions, it dissolves gradually. In order to keep the initial results, it is recommended that you get touch-ups done every 6-9 months. If you wait until the dermal filler completely dissolves, then you’ll need to start back at square one - however, with regular maintenance visits, you can keep your face looking youthful and fresh!
